Community Hero Award May 2025: Hayley Wilkins – Turning Tragedy into a Legacy of Love

This May, LoveManilva.com is proud to present our Community Hero Award to Hayley Wilkins, a woman whose strength, compassion, and tireless determination have transformed unimaginable heartbreak into a force for good.

Hayley’s story begins with a deeply personal tragedy – the loss of her baby daughter, Sienna Elizabeth Rose, who was born sleeping. While many would understandably struggle to face the world again after such a loss, Hayley chose to honour her daughter’s memory in a way that continues to touch lives across communities and beyond.

Determined that Sienna’s legacy would be one of love and hope, Hayley founded the Sienna Elizabeth Rose Legacy – a heartfelt initiative with a mission to support grieving parents during the darkest moments of their lives.

In a powerful first achievement, Hayley was able to donate a cuddle cot to the hospital where Sienna was born. This special piece of equipment allows parents precious extra time with their babies – time to hold, love, and say goodbye in their own way. It’s a gift no parent would ever wish to need, but one that makes an indescribable difference in those devastating moments.

But Hayley’s vision doesn’t stop there. She is currently working on creating and distributing comfort kit boxes for bereaved parents – carefully curated to provide both emotional and practical support. Her mission is clear: no parent should feel alone in their grief.

Her dedication and strength have not gone unnoticed. In fact, Hayley's work has drawn international attention, with interest from American media outlets and a television interview soon to air that will help spread awareness even further. Her story, and more importantly, Sienna’s story, is being shared around the world – lighting a path for others walking through the same unimaginable pain.

Hayley is also actively organising fundraising events, rallying her community and beyond to support this vital cause. Through every event and every conversation, she ensures that Sienna’s name continues to shine as a symbol of love, resilience, and change.

There are few words powerful enough to describe the courage it takes to transform personal loss into purposeful action. But what is clear is that Hayley Wilkins is not only a grieving mother – she is a beacon of hope, an advocate for compassion, and an inspiration to us all.
